Our world-class educational setting for early childhood and key stage one education

Children attending Someries Infant School are offered the opportunity to engage, learn and develop in a cutting-edge learning environment.

The school has been extensively refurbished in recent years and houses four spacious key stage one classrooms and two reception classrooms, all of which have direct access to outdoor teaching and learning spaces. Each year groups also benefits from a designated additional shared teaching space known as a 'Learning Hub'.

Our nursery is housed in a seperate building within the school grounds and has shared access to our purpose-built outdoor classroom supporting early childhood education.

Every child also has access to our Immersive Learning Centre which enables us to facilitate an increasingly flexible and experiential approach to the way we teach your child in all areas of their learning. We are the only school in Luton to have these state-of-the art facilities which enable us to 'take' your children to previously impossible places in their learning; from an enchanted forest to a tiger-dwelling jungle to being chased by Vikings or swimming with dolphins! Complete with its own spectacular interactive floor, our Immersive Learning Centre has the ability to quite simply become anywhere or anything imaginable.

Our central school hall is the hub of school life, being used for assemblies, drama, physical education lessons, school productions and concerts, as well as for meetings and other social events. The other main use is as a dining room where children come together to enjoy delicious hot meals provided by our on-site catering team. We highly value this time and believe the atmosphere of purposeful activity and social interaction is of immense value to all members of our school community.

The school is built on one level and has designated disabled toilets to ensure accessibility is maintained for all children.

We are very fortunate to have such extensive outdoor spaces. The school has access to an excellent playing field and a hard-surface area within the school grounds. An adventure trail with an all-weather safety surface provides an exciting additional play facility, which - coupled with our multi-use games area, Golden Mile running track, stage, multiple seating areas, allotment and willow structure - make for a varied and stimulating outdoor environment where all children are able to find their own space, yet still be provided with challenges as they grow. The school also hosts a new climbing zone which containes a climbing frame and scramble net to develop pupils' climbing skills and core body strength.
