A very warm welcome to our school.

I loved school, and I still love learning. We aim for that at Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre: a genuine love of learning extending beyond school into each child’s life.

All children deserve the best – the best education, the best pastoral care and the best learning environment. Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre exists to provide the best possible early years and key stage one education available. Everything we do is in the interests of children. We have high expectations for every child.

We believe anything is possible at Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre. We believe that all children have the right to be provided with a creative, innovative and exciting education that will inspire them to become lifelong learners who are enthusiastic and proud of everything they do.

We want every child to excel in all aspects of their learning within an immersive, imaginative, expressive and inclusive environment. We also want children to become confident discoverers, explorers and creators who live our values. At Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre, we keep children at the focus of everything we do.

We want children to be excited about coming to school, engaged purposefully in their learning and able to articulate their views politely, respectfully and positively. We expect learning opportunities to be irresistible and work closely as colleagues to continue developing and enhancing what we do and how we do it.

Our clear vision is built on the principle that anything is possible. Drawing from extensive educational research into high-quality teaching and learning, our curriculum intends to provide an education for the whole child. It is informed by solid values emphasising equality, equity, compassion and community in which everyone’s voice is welcome and valued. Through our inclusive, warm and caring approach, we know our pupils will flourish, reach their academic and social potential, and confidently move along their learning journey with courage and humility.

Being an educator is a privilege and a great responsibility. We tirelessly ensure that every child is prepared to meet life’s challenges. As an organisation, we continually challenge thinking about learning and teaching to inspire learning through the principles of discovery, exploration and creativity. We are respected and admired because our pupils live our values and embody our two simple rules: work hard, and be nice to people.
